Hi kids,
I took Rod to the hospital about 11:15 last night. He has pneumonia. The docs have him on antiobiotics. He is weak, tired, and down to about 120 pounds.
My worry scale...3.5 to 4...for awhile tonight it was an 8.
Rod had dialysis today and they took him pretty dry. I was helping him to the bathroom about 8:30 and he fainted. I was able to hold him and lower him to the bathroom floor. I went in the hall, said "I need help!" and almost instantly had three nurses in with him. He had the dry heaves and was out of it for about three minutes. The nurses sat him up and he was suddenly modest about having to go to the bathroom. Your dad is the ever-present gentleman...private, modest, and respectful for others.
They put him to bed and he took a tylenol for a slight fever and is resting comfortably and sleeping soundly now. I read several scriptures and we prayed together before he fell asleep. So now I am back to a 3 1/2 worry level.
Dad has always been private about his faith. Quiet and strong and steady and constant. He has helped me to know God's love when I can't "feel" it.
Isaiah 41:13
For I am the Lord, your God,
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear:
I will help you.
What a blessing to know your dad, let alone to have him for all these years!
